All-time favorite movie?

Postby SuperTim on Thu Oct 02, 2008 6:51 pm

What is everyone's all-time favorite movie?

Now, mine has nothing to do with one of the principal actors of this movie having passed recently. I just love this movie. It really toys with your expectations and really, nothing turnds out the way you'd expect.

If you haven't guessed already, mine is The Sting.

I gotta go with Princess Bride. I Love that movie, quote it all the time. Just Classic.

But the original The Crow with Brandon Lee is a close second.

Star Wars. And by that I mean, A New Hope. My single greatest film of all time, and a film that is in large part responsible for me being who I am today.

All time favorite? I don't think I can honestly choose just one. Some of my favorites are Brick, Clerks, The Prestige, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Good Night and Good Luck, and Star Wars (original trilogy, of course). Each brings something completely different to the table.

Brick is noir to it's core. I love the fast talking lingo and the dark mystery.
Clerks. Come on, it's a Kevin Smith classic.
The Prestige was such a great movie, both visually and in it's narrative. How obsession and pride can consume all.
BB & TDK are brilliant pieces of work. I love Batman as a character and no portrayal has done more justice to the mythos than these two films.
Good Night and Good Luck, was a masterpiece of storytelling. Edward R Murrow is, to this day, still one of myown personal heroes. His mastery of the english language and all that he's done with his life and astounding. Clooney did a wonderful job bringing that to the screen as director.
Star Wars. 'nuff said.

Like I said, I can't truly chose between them, so I'll allow you all to make that decision for me.
From my black throne I will lash together a machine of bone & blood, fueled by my hatred for you this fear machine will bore a hole between this world and that one.
