I own them both. The 360 is by far the better game machine, but the PS3 is a magnificent movie player.

I think what people need to consider is what type of game appeals to themselves before making any kind of purchase. I have all three major systems (Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360) and each has their advantages.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was a masterpiece in both story telling and gameplay. I've been hooked on the series since MGS1 for the PS1 and never looked back. This game combined with Call Of Duty 4 and the PS3's Blu-Ray capabilities made the console a buy for me. (I buy Blu-Ray almost exclusively now. I've become an HD snob of sorts because of this machine!)

There's no doubt that Microsoft has a huge advantage when it comes to connectivity and sheer volume of games. Halo 3's fast paced action in both single and multiplayer modes (especially online) combined with other stellar titles (not the mention the variety of them) and the the Xbox Live Marketplace make the Xbox 360 the "H4rdc0rez" gamer choice. Grab your skateboard, do the dew and go extreme!

Wii is the quintessential novelty system that just never gets old... and I mean NEVER! This simplistic machine never fails to marvel me. The nunchuck and remote were universally laughed at when they were announced, but I can't imagine a more intuitive controller set-up at this stage. From party games with friends like Mario Party and Wii Sports, to the exceptional first party titles like Super Mario Galaxy, to the innovative Mario Kart Wii, Nintendo proves that there's much more to life than "graphics". It's about the immersive experience and nobody does it better.
From my black throne I will lash together a machine of bone & blood, fueled by my hatred for you this fear machine will bore a hole between this world and that one.

I don't even think the 360 can be considered the " h4rdc0r3" console anymore because at least half of the games are rated E and T and are marketed to kids and families. Sure, the most well known games ( Halo, Rainbow Six, Gears, GTA4, COD4, Mass Effect) are M but still. . . . . it is the same with the PS3 ( Resistance, GTA, MGS4,Killzone).

I have the xbox 360 and I also have the . . .. . . . . .wait for it . . . . . . . hd-dvd player add-on  I know, I know.

( ohhh, and I didn't add the Wii to the poll because it isn't really next-gen. It is just a gamecube with a sweet controller. )

I have the HD-DVD add-on for the 360, and slowly but surely I'm trying to replace my HD-DVDs with BDs. Ugh. Still, I loves me some Xbox, and have since I bought the first on at launch.

As for the Wii... meh. I had one, and about two months later I sold it off for a small profit. If you have kids, I'm sure it's great, but for me it was a joke.

If you have a PS3, you should run out and get both Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank Future. They are fantastic.

I want a PS3 so bad. Right now I have a PS2 and a Wii. Like Justin has said it's good with kids and I have kids at home. So anyway PS3, Yeah, anyone want to donate one to the chaity of Entertainment Geekly.

And if anyone at Sony is reading this I will be happy to review the system and any games you want if you send them to me. :-) (I put this in because I know people at Sony are reading)

I'd love a 360 or a PS3 but I'm happy with my Wii.

Beside had to buy a new laptop so no new toys anytime soon, unless
Sony comes out with that mythical Final Fantasy VII redo on the PS3.
Then I'll find a way to get one.
