Spaced

A couple of weeks ago the BBC comedy series Spaced was released on DVD over here in the States. So people may not know of it so I decided to drop a line on it to get the word out. If you like the movies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, then more then likely you will like Spaced. It stars Simon Pegg, who played Shaun in Shaun of the Dead and Nicholas Angel in Hot Fuzz. It costars Nick Frost, also from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. The series was also directed by Edgar Wright, the director of Shaun of the dead and Hot Fuzz.
The plot of Spaced is the Simon Pegg's character, Tim, gets kicked out of an apartment by his girlfriend. He mets Daisy, who moves out of her apartment of deadbeat roommates. They find the perfect apartment, but they must act like a couple. It's a great comedy and they do a lot of homages to other stuff, like Scooby Doo, and Star Wars. I highly recommend the series.

I did hear about an American redo but nothing recent. I heard it'll be like The Office, none of the original cast will be in it, but Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright will be the producers of it. Not sure if thats true with The Office. I heard this a couple months ago, but nothing recent.

I watched the Colbert Special. It was ok. I think the Jeff Dunham Christmas special was a lot funny.

Last I heard, McG was producing it. I'd actually read Pegg and Wright be very vocal about them having nothing to do with the remake, and not being happy about it. But, I also seem to remember that the show hadn't made it through the initial planning stages. I know that a pilot was never cast so I don't think it's happening.

BTW I believe that The Office (America) is Exec. Produced by Ricky Gervais. At least, his name is featured in every episode and I'm 99% sure it wasn't some "based on the series created by Rick Gervais" or anything like that. It was a real credit. He has something to do with it.
